From the very beginning of the month till December, this picturesque hill town celebrates colorful fairs and festivals as there are various ethnic groups, majority being the Nepal Gurkhas. In the month of January – February the major part of the population celebrate Loshar Festivals with great joy and happiness. Loshar Festival is celebrated by the Tibetains with great flair to mark the New Year and the celebration lasts for more then a week.
